Visitor guidelines

Northwest Hospital remains committed to ensuring the safety of our patients and staff. As we continue to see a decrease in COVID+ patient volumes, in line with a decrease in community transmission of the virus, we are pleased expand our patient visitation effective April 13, 2022 at 6 a.m. Our updated policy will be as follows:

  • Non–COVID/PUI patients are allowed two visitors at a time between the hours of 6:00 am and 8:00 pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • At this time, no visitors are permitted for COVID+/PUI patients.
  • All visitors must read and acknowledge understanding of our COVID-19 screening criteria at security, and must attest that they meet that criteria prior to being granted entry to our facility.
    • Visitors who do not meet the screening criteria will be asked to defer their visit.
    • All visitors must wear a face mask (hospital-grade preferred) properly at all times while at our facility.
  • One overnight visitor will only be allowed in the following circumstances:
    • Pediatric patients will be permitted one parent/guardian at all times.
    • Labor and Delivery patients may have one birth partner/patient advocate during the entirety of the labor encounter. Certified labor support individual may be permitted on a case by case basis.
    • Surgical patients will be permitted one patient advocate pre- and post-procedure.
    • Confused or anxious patients will be permitted one support person.
    • Patients receiving end of life care will be permitted an overnight visitor.
  • Exceptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis.

Dress code

All visitors are required to wear appropriate attire when entering the hospital. Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times.

Special arrangements will be made for special visiting hours in consult with the charge nurse of the unit.

HCA Florida Northwest Hospital offers volunteer opportunities to people to contribute their time to improve the quality of services offered to our patients, family members, physicians and staff. Additionally, the great satisfaction gained by volunteers makes the experience truly worthwhile. If you are motivated to donate your time and talents and want to give back to your community, we invite you to join the dedicated group of volunteers at our hospital.

Visitor information

Café

Each day, the café offers a rotating selection of entrees and side dishes, a grill with daily specials and a menu of always-available options, as well as grab and go options (e.g., salads, yogurt, desserts, snacks and sandwiches).

  • Breakfast is served from 7:00am to 10:30am.
  • Lunch is served from 11:15am to 2:00pm.
  • Dinner is served from 5:00pm to 6:30pm.

Additionally, vending machines, water, ice and coffee machines are available in the cafeteria 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Parking/valet

Free parking is available in front of the hospital, emergency department, outpatient and medical office buildings. We also have two free parking garages on campus.

Wi-Fi access

HCA Florida Northwest Hospital operates a wireless (Wi-Fi) network for our patients and guests. Using your Wi-Fi-enabled device, you can access many internet resources (email and websites) from just about anywhere in the hospital. We're happy to provide this free and reliable service to our patients and visitors, and getting connected is easy.
